Application procedure
How to submit your German visa application
Please read the different steps below to learn how to submit your visa application at the TLScontact visa application centre.

Create Your TLScontact Account
Please create your personal user account, and activate your account by clicking the provided link in the email sent to you.

Input Your Data
Log in to your account, fill in the requested personal data. If you are a member of a group of people applying for a visa together, please fill in the data of those accompanying you too. Submit the group when you finish.

Make An Appointment
Choose a date and time of your convenience to submit your application at our Visa Application Centre. Do not forget to print out your notification as it will be required at our welcome area.
Note:
- The service fee payment will be "online" or by "Fawry stores" during the appointment booking process.
- The visa fee has to be paid in EGP in cash at TLScontact centre.
- You can amend your appointment only once maximum 48 hours prior to the appointment date.

Complete The VIDEX Form
Please note that the VIDEX form (Short stay type: C) / VIDEX form (Long stay type: D) should be completed online via the Videx website and printed. The form should be completed in capital letters using black ink and must be signed by the applicant in person.
If your fingerprints are over 59 months old, you must visit again. Otherwise, no personal appearance is required.

Application Submission
Please arrive on time for your appointment. Applicants who arrive more than 15 minutes late will need to book a new appointment.
During your appointment, our staff will:

Check your application and supporting documents against the requirements of the German Diplomatic Mission;

Collect your biometric data, where required;

Accept your visa application and applicable fees.
Your application will then be transferred to the German Diplomatic Mission for processing and decision-making. TLScontact does not take part in the visa decision.
You can track your application by logging in to your personal account.

National visa (Type D)
Applicants aged 6 and over applying for a German National Visa (Type D) must attend their appointment in person to provide fingerprints (biometric data).
All other applicants must follow the applicable submission requirements for their visa category.
For family reunification applications, children under 18 applying together with their parents must attend the appointment with their parents.
Certain Type D applications must be submitted directly to the German Embassy and cannot be submitted through TLScontact, including:

Family reunification with a person already in Germany, who has already applied or will apply later;

Language courses without further education;
-
School students visiting or exchanging with a school in Germany;

Long-stay missions for diplomatic passport holders;
-
Internships (Praktikum) lasting more than 90 days.
Please check the German Embassy website for the applicable appointment procedure.
Note: Visa processing currently takes an average of 5 weeks. We recommend applying at least 14 days before your intended travel date.

Passport Collection
After the German Diplomatic mission has made a decision on your visa application, your passport will be returned to you by our courier service. You will be notified by SMS and email as soon as the passport arrives.
